Tasks

As a Mortgage Officer, you are responsible for all aspects of mortgage risk for a portfolio of domestic and international private banking clients. You evaluate, analyze, structure, and approve mortgage applications. As the second line of defense, you are responsible for underwriting and managing mortgage applications.

The most important tasks include:

• Analysis of mortgage applications and feedback to the first line of defense
• Ensuring that all mortgages comply with banking regulations and legal requirements
• Management and administrative tasks for approved mortgages, including ongoing lifecycle management of active mortgages and mortgage products
• Improvement of data quality for existing products and future positions
• Proactive support to improve working methods, processes, and quality, particularly at the interface with the mortgage advisory teams
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with mortgage advisors, the Julius Baer real estate team, and relationship managers

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or relevant professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in the mortgage sector, ideally in a private banking environment
• Strong understanding of mortgage products and underwriting procedures
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance standards
• Knowledge and experience in mortgage financing in French-speaking Switzerland or Ticino are a significant advantage.
• Excellent language skills (written and spoken) in German and English; French or Italian are a strong plus
