Tasks

As a Mortgage Officer, you will serve as the second line of defense in mortgage underwriting and servicing for domestic and international private banking clients. You will assess credit risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the front line in developing sound mortgage solutions. This exciting role combines risk monitoring with operational excellence and requires close collaboration with mortgage advisors, relationship managers, and others.

Tasks in detail

• Providing constructive feedback and recommendations for mortgage advisors and relationship managers
• Ensuring that all transactions comply with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements
• Performing servicing and lifecycle administration for active mortgage facilities, including amendments and renewals
• Accelerating data quality improvements for current and new mortgage positions
• Contributing to process optimization and operational excellence in close collaboration with stakeholders
• Regular contact with mortgage advisors, the Julius Baer Real Estate Team, and relationship managers to support efficient transaction execution

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; or relevant professional experience
• 3–5+ years of experience in the mortgage sector, ideally in a private banking or wealth management setting
• Solid understanding of mortgage underwriting, product structures, and risk mitigation techniques
• Knowledge of Swiss banking regulations and regulatory framework
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results
• A collaborative spirit with strong communication skills—a proven ability to work effectively as a team player in cross-functional environments
• Fluency in German or English, combined with demonstrable proficiency in French or Italian, is strongly preferred
