Murex Testing Specialist
Julius Baer Bank is seeking a Murex testing specialist for a 12-month contract position in Singapore to ensure the quality and stability of the MX.3 system during upgrades and changes. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with Murex and will be responsible for leading end-to-end regression testing and defect production readiness.
Tasks
Responsible for the design, development, and testing of software modules to ensure optimal functionality and integration within complex systems. The role requires a combination of in-depth technical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance and deliver high-quality software solutions.KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning processes within GPS - Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive non-regression test suites covering core Murex functionalities, including trade booking, pricing, lifecycle events, real-time portfolio management, P&L, Greeks and sensitivities computation, end-of-day reporting, and all trading and sales features and functionalities. - Design, prepare, and execute regression tests to ensure the proper implementation of downstream data flows into our core banking system. - Reconcile structural test plans in coordination with business users, quants, developers, and operations for each Murex upgrade cycle. - Identify areas impacted by Murex version upgrades (e.g., functional changes, deprecated features, API modifications, etc.) and assess associated risks. - Collaborate closely with Murex and Core Banking project teams and DevOps to validate key workflows across different asset classes. - Utilize Murex-native tools (e.g., MX Test, etc.) to automate and streamline testing efforts. - Document defects, track resolution progress, and verify fixes in collaboration with internal development and support teams. - Contribute to UAT coordination, preparing test environments, data sets, and expected outcomes for business validation. - Support post-go-live validation and burn-in phases.Requirements
- At least 5 years of practical experience with Murex (MX.3) in a testing or business analyst role.
- Proven experience in leading non-regression and system integration tests during Murex upgrades or patch deployments.
- A strong understanding of capital market products, particularly FX, rates, credit, fixed income, and structured products.
- In-depth knowledge of Murex architecture, core modules, and testing tools.
- A solid understanding of front-office modules, including deal capture, curve building, pricing, real-time portfolio management, and risk and P&L calculation and contribution.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices in an agile environment.
- Strong proficiency in automation tools for data validation (e.g., SQL, Python, Shell, etc.).
