Murex Testing Specialist

Julius Baer Bank is seeking a Murex testing specialist for a 12-month contract position in Singapore to ensure the quality and stability of the MX.3 environment during upgrades and change cycles. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with Murex and will be responsible for leading end-to-end regression testing and defect production readiness.

Tasks

The role involves responsibility for the design, development, and testing of software modules to ensure optimal functionality and integration within complex systems. The Murex Testing Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and quality of the MX.3 environment during annual upgrades and ongoing change cycles.

KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The main tasks include:
  • Active participation in Program Increment (PI) planning processes within GPS
  • Design, development, and maintenance of comprehensive non-regression test suites for Murex functionalities
  • Perform regression tests to ensure proper implementation of downstream data flows into the core banking system.
  • Coordinate structural test plans with business users, quants, developers, and the operations team for each Murex upgrade cycle.
  • Identification of affected areas due to Murex version upgrades and assessment of the associated risks
  • Collaborate with Murex and core banking project teams and DevOps to validate key workflows across different asset classes
  • Use of Murex native tools (e.g., MX Test) to automate and optimize testing efforts
  • Documenting errors, tracking solution progress, and reviewing corrections in collaboration with internal development and support teams
  • Collaborate on UAT coordination, preparation of test environments, data sets, and expected results for business unit validation
  • Support during post-go-live validation and burn-in phases

Requirements

The requirements for Murex testing specialists include:
  • At least 5 years of practical experience with Murex (MX.3) in a testing or functional analysis capacity
  • Experience in managing non-regression and system integration testing during Murex upgrades or patch deployments
  • Strong understanding of capital market products, in particular FX, rates, credit, fixed income, and derivatives
  • Deep understanding of Murex architecture, core modules, and testing tools
  • Solid understanding of front-office modules, including deal capture, curve building, pricing, real-time portfolio management, risk and P&L calculation and contribution
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices in an agile environment
  • Strong skills in automation tools for data validation (e.g., SQL, Python, Shell, etc.)
