Network Engineer

As a Network Engineer at Man Group, you will be part of a team that develops and operates the technological infrastructure for hedge funds. You will be responsible for setting up and managing network infrastructures, both on-site and in the cloud.

Job description: Network Engineer

Tasks

  • Promoting and adhering to best practices in technology by applying strong engineering skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of technology stacks to create robust solutions.
  • Building and managing Man Group's infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud, using technologies such as Python.
  • Strong skills, knowledge, and experience with network systems and services.
  • Close collaboration with business partners in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Required

  • Experience in operating and providing network infrastructure.
  • Experience in planning and implementing infrastructure and its performance.
  • Experience in troubleshooting transport profiles (TCP/UDP).
  • Familiarity with overlay networks (VXLAN, VLAN).
  • Strong knowledge of the following products: Cisco Nexus, Cisco Networking, Arista Networks.
  • Ability to work with complex systems. Ability to perform root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Engineers who proactively monitor systems to increase efficiency.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including packet-level troubleshooting and performance tuning in complex environments.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to maintain a high level of customer feedback.
  • A flexible and talented team player who is also self-motivated and able to work independently when necessary.

Advantageous

  • Familiarity with network monitoring, telemetry, and predictive analytics tools to take proactive action.
  • Experience working in agile and DevOps-driven teams where cross-functional alignment and rapid implementation are required.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
