NUCLEUS SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Job description

As a software engineer on the Nucleus team, you will be part of a highly qualified group of engineers responsible for building and further developing the core technology platform that powers Leonteq's investment platform.

Tasks

- Design, development, and maintenance of highly available distributed services - Close collaboration with business partners and other engineering teams to understand requirements, design solutions, and estimate implementation efforts - Contribution to software architecture and technical design decisions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability - Creating automated tests and contributing to a robust CI/CD pipeline that enables frequent and reliable deployments - Collaborating with DevOps, infrastructure, security, and release engineering teams to continuously improve the platforms - Modernizing and further developing existing services while ensuring high reliability for business-critical applications - Participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing within the engineering organization - Supporting the further development of the platform to enable other development teams to build and deliver software efficiently

Requirements

- Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field - Professional-level English proficiency - Experience building scalable, distributed applications using Java, .NET, or similar languages - Strong understanding of software engineering principles and a pragmatic mindset - Experience designing and implementing APIs for integration with internal and external systems - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment - Ability to work effectively in an international, geographically distributed team - Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility - Interest in working with financial products and investment technologies

Nice to have

- Professional experience in the financial services or fintech industry - Experience with Java/Scala and Pekko - Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ - Experience operating applications on Kubernetes, VMware Tanzu, or Google Cloud Platform
