A Numeric Rotational Analyst on the Numeric Graduate Rotational Program at Man Group works on developing trading strategies, conducting research and analyzing data to create innovative solutions for clients. After four rotations, there is the opportunity to move into a full-time position in Numeric Research, Alternative or Portfolio Management.

Numeric Rotational Analyst Boston, Massachusetts

Tasks

  • Conduct research and develop strategies that inform our trade-focused execution strategies
  • Working with teams across the business to identify new and innovative investment strategies
  • Sources and integration of existing and new investment ideas into our investment strategies
  • Conducting research on various aspects of the implementation of investment ideas and innovative data sources

Tasks (continued)

  • Analyzing profit and loss, risk and performance drivers and performing trading performance analysis
  • Support research and portfolio management teams in refining trading strategies and testing new signals
  • Cooperation with Quantitative Research & Strategy and Alternative Trading Systems (ATS)

Quant Trading & Research

  • Support in the development of our trading platform, infrastructure and technology
  • Use qualitative and quantitative analytics to improve the performance of our systematic strategies
  • Monitoring high-frequency trading and responding to changing market conditions
  • Carrying out ad hoc analyses
  • Maintenance of 'high frequency' market data feeds across multiple exchanges, including dark pools and Alternative Trading Systems (ATS)
  • Support in the creation, testing and refinement of price discovery algorithms

Quantitative Developer Rotational Analyst

  • Work directly with the research and portfolio management teams to implement new ideas and support the market
  • Responsibility for the success of Platform, which supports the market
  • Coding of new and existing strategies, maintenance and support of market data frameworks, libraries and applications

Requirements

  • Strong academic background and undergraduate degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics or engineering
  • Strong programming and data analysis skills (e.g. Python, R) and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with conflicting deadlines
  • Focused on delivering value to the business with a strong focus on effort to improve processes
