Numeric Rotational Analyst
A Numeric Rotational Analyst within the Numeric Graduate Rotational Program at Man Group supports various teams such as Quant Trading, Alpha Technology, Quantitative Research and Portfolio Management in the development and implementation of trading strategies and models. The analyst will perform analysis, develop strategies and assist in the implementation of projects.

Numeric Rotational Analyst
Tasks
- Conduct research and develop strategies to improve trading in equity markets and across the organization
- Development and implementation of strategies based on trading data and news
- Collaborate with other teams to create new and support existing strategies by identifying new investment opportunities and assessing risks
- Analysis of trading data and market data sources
- Development of investment strategies such as trading models, risk models, optimization and portfolio construction
Tasks depending on area
Quant Trading & Research
- Support in the development of trading platforms, infrastructure and technology
- Drive quantitative and statistical analysis to improve the performance of systematic strategies
- Monitor live trading and respond to changing market conditions as required
- Assistance with the procurement of various support requests and projects
- Analysis of high-frequency tick data in cash equities from multiple exchanges, including dark pools and Alternative Trading Systems (ATS)
- Support in building execution algorithms/signals with Python volumes and alternative data
- Contribution to improvements in portfolio management, risk management and trading
- Support in the development of proprietary execution algorithms, trading platforms, infrastructure
- Conduct post-trade analysis and hold meetings to continuously improve execution capabilities
Quantitative Developer Rotational Analyst
- Work directly with the research and technology teams to implement new models and algorithms on trading systems
- Responsibility for the continuous success of strategy, in-house quant platform and tool building, monitoring of markets and trading systems
Requirements
Key competencies
- Strong passion for and undergraduate degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics or engineering
- Strong programming and statistical analysis skills (e.g. Python, R) and the ability to communicate complex ideas verbally
- Proven problem-solving ability
- Ability to work effectively and the ability to proactively manage time across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
- Focus on delivering value to the business with a passion for improving processes
