Operational Resilience and Outsourcing Manager

EFG Bank von Ernst in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, is seeking an Operational Resilience and Outsourcing Manager who will be responsible for overseeing COO activities, leading projects, and implementing business risk management. The position holder will report directly to the CFO/COO of EFG Bank von Ernst and should have at least five years of professional experience at a financial institution.

Job description

As the Operational Resilience and Outsourcing Manager in Vaduz, you will be responsible for overseeing COO activities, including leading projects, managing outsourcing, and implementing business risk management (BRM). The Operational Resilience and Outsourcing Manager reports directly to the CFO/COO of EFG Bank von Ernst. The main responsibilities of the Operational Resilience and Outsourcing Manager within the COO division are:
  • Leading or participating in strategic and regulatory projects involving EFG Bank von Ernst, serving as the point of contact for group-wide initiatives.
  • Optimizing front-office and back-office processes through the implementation of group-wide digitization and IT improvement initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee internal and external outsourcing providers and ICT suppliers to ensure full compliance with EAA regulatory requirements, including ORA; serve as the designated outsourcing manager for all contracts with third-party providers and within the bank.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of COO activities, including operations, IT, and business continuity management (BCM), carried out by the Group COO function.
  • Responsibility for the design, implementation, and development of a comprehensive and robust risk and control framework within the Chief Operating Officer (COO) function in Liechtenstein that complies with Group standards.
  • Identify key risks associated with COO processes and design the necessary mitigation measures to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Analysis of the causes of operational risk incidents and identification of corrective actions.
  • Acting Head of Operations, with responsibility for day-to-day operational activities, including security transfers, corporate activities, and the execution of financial instruments.
  • Active participation in working groups convened by the Liechtenstein Bankers' Association to stay up to date on regulatory requirements and best practices.

Requirements

The Operational Resilience and Outsourcing Manager should possess the following skills and competencies:
  • At least five years of professional experience, ideally at a financial institution; experience in project management is a strong plus.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Motivated, flexible, and well-organized.
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and willing to take the initiative in a fast-paced environment.
