Operational Resilience Lead

The position of Operational Resilience Lead at Julius Baer in St. Peter Port involves responsibility for implementing and monitoring operational resilience at the Guernsey branch. The candidate should have experience in operational resilience, outsourcing, and risk management in a banking or regulated environment and demonstrate at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Tasks

The position of Operational Resilience Lead includes the following responsibilities:
  • Serve as the local Operational Resilience Officer in accordance with the JBG Global Operational Resilience Policy
  • Represent local operational resilience through the existing Business Risk and Conduct Committee (BRCC)
  • Monitor the implementation of global policies and procedures at the local level
  • Develop and manage a multi-year integrated test plan for local Critical Functions (CFs)
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct end-to-end resilience tests
  • Prepare annual test reports and document identified vulnerabilities, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Track, validate, and report on the progress of corrective actions for identified vulnerabilities
  • Escalation of critical gaps that require investment or cross-functional solutions to the Local BRCC Committee and Group-level bodies
  • Promote a culture of proactive risk identification and continuous improvement of recovery capabilities

Requirements

The following requirements apply to this position:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a banking or regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of operational resilience, outsourcing, and risk frameworks
  • Experience in managing third-party risks and outsourcing agreements, including governance, monitoring, and reporting
  • Solid knowledge of business continuity and crisis management practices, including scenario testing and planning
  • A strong understanding of cybersecurity and information security principles, with the ability to communicate effectively with Group functions and local stakeholders/partners
  • Work confidently with systems and management information, including tools such as ServiceNow, to support reporting and monitoring
  • A confident presence when leading committees and governance forums, with the ability to facilitate discussions, pose appropriate challenges, and ensure clear outcomes and accountability
