Department Overview

• Lead operational risk management's engagement with regional and company stakeholders, supporting the business across Operations, Technology Risk, Compliance, and Risk Management;
• Providing guidance on risk and control matters and forming an independent and consolidated view of the business risk profile;
• Partnering with the front office and relevant ZLOD functions (including the 2nd and 3rd lines) on the risk and control profile of operations, including active mitigation efforts
• Business-specific coverage will depend on the manager's relevant skills

Specific responsibilities

• Developing a close working relationship with key stakeholders across the operations business, as well as with senior leadership in technology, compliance, and risk management;
• Developing specific aspects of the operational risk framework as needed
• Providing support and challenges to key business stakeholders in the delivery of new products, including RCSAs, KRIs, and events
• Using internal and external data sources to identify key trends, issues, and control weaknesses, and following up with first-line stakeholders as appropriate.
• Overseeing the conduct, as required, of Targeted Risk Assessments and Post-Event Appraisals
• 2nd line (Performance and Operational Risk Awareness line)

Key Goals for Success

• Primary ORM lead for senior stakeholders at ILIoD
• Providing independent expert advice to the business units on operational risk issues
• Developing and disseminating communications and providing training to the business to raise awareness of operational risk
• Providing value-added insights and recommendations directly to senior stakeholders

Qualification Profile

• A strong FRM/CFA/IQA qualification is required
• A deep understanding of business and IT control frameworks
• Proven experience in operations or a related control assurance role
• Strong teamwork and relationship management skills
• IT literacy, including the ability to create reports and presentations for working groups
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experienced in establishing control standards and providing control and assurance support to GM, senior management, the audit function, and regulatory authorities
