Specific Responsibilities

• Developing a close working relationship with key stakeholders across key divisional and business sectors
• Taking ownership of and/or providing direct oversight of the implementation of key operational risk management requirements, as appropriate
• Developing business relationships through regular meetings with key stakeholders; ensuring a thorough understanding of key business requirements and tailored processes within the required business reporting framework
• Development and maintenance of operational risk (business assurance) reporting
• Using internal and external data sources to identify risk trends, issues, or developing business relationships through regular meetings and other insights that require further investigation and resolution
• Follow appropriate procedures for managing the review of risk events in KRIs and control effectiveness testing, as well as related issues, and follow up with stakeholders as appropriate
• Overseeing the Planning of Risk Assessments and Post-Event Appraisals
• Follow up on operational controls and observations with first-line stakeholders as appropriate

Key Objectives Critical to Success

• Primary ORM lead for the senior stakeholders in 1LoD
• Providing independent expert advice to the business units on operational risk
• Developing, disseminating communications, and training the business on identifying and documenting process risks (RCSAs, KRIs, risk assessments), ensuring awareness of operational risk, and embedding the risk process within the business
• Tracking and analyzing internal and external data to gain new insights and develop recommendations for senior management to act upon
• Observing and Challenging the Embeddedness of Operational Risk
