Main tasks / responsibilities
You will be part of the Bank Risk team and support the second line of defense of a growing private bank in Switzerland. The Risk team drives the bank's risk management and internal control framework to ensure and support the sustainability, innovation and growth of our business.
- You will be responsible for risk management projects, operational risk assessments and day-to-day business activities.
- You will work with various stakeholders on qualitative and quantitative assessments.
The activities include:
- Thematic in-depth analysis in different departments to understand how each department works and what relevant activities and risks exist.
- Understanding of the applicable regulations and internal guidelines.
- Prepare risk assessments and reports on processes, controls, inherent risks and residual risks to provide a robust and effective challenge to the business.
- Designing test cases and defining the appropriate criteria for different types of processes and controls.
- Supporting the elimination of weaknesses in internal controls with multiple stakeholders, supporting business units in improving the quality and efficiency of their internal controls.
- Reporting to various stakeholders such as the Head of Bank Risk, Heads of Departments and Senior Management.
- Participation in international projects with various offices and divisions of the bank.
- Creation and maintenance of quantitative and qualitative risk indicators.
- Data maintenance and system updates.
- Automation of processes.
Specific knowledge and skills required for this position
- Knowledge of operational risk management, internal controls or quality.
- Very good communication skills.
- Solution-oriented.
- Analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice to have:
- Advanced knowledge of VBA is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Alteryx is an advantage.
Required training
- Bachelor's degree.
- Additional qualification in risk management / internal controls would be an asset.
Required professional experience
- At least 6 years of professional experience in the banking sector, ideally in private banking, in an operational risk management function.
