Operations Generalist (m/f/d) - Securities and Payments

The Julius Baer Group is looking for an Operations Generalist (m/f/d) for its Securities and Payments division in Frankfurt am Main, who will be responsible for processing trading, tax, and payment transactions, as well as creating and maintaining customer master data. The ideal candidate will have completed banking training or a degree in economics, as well as several years of professional experience in the area of payment transactions or securities back office.

Tasks

The Operations department acts as the link between the front and back office units and ensures smooth day-to-day operations. Its main tasks include processing all trading, tax, and payment transactions, as well as creating and maintaining customer master data and preparing tax-related reports. Specific tasks include:
  • Collaboration with the external settlement service provider/back office, including daily securities settlement
  • General processing of securities settlement
  • Storage location control and inquiries on all topics relating to storage location management
  • Settlement of exchange-traded options & futures
  • Proper handling and monitoring of corporate actions
  • Ensuring compliance with and reconciliation of relevant regulatory guidelines in the course of securities trading and payment transactions
  • Checking and reconciling securities orders in accordance with MiFID II
  • Processing of securities transfers in accordance with MA custody account regulations
  • Reconciliation of cash & pieces
  • Ensuring the proper processing of all payment transactions (including checks) abroad and in Ireland (SEPA) as well as treasury transactions (FX, MMKT, SWAP)
  • Monitoring and recording transaction processes to ensure smooth and efficient execution of transactions
  • Communication with customers and internal departments with the aim of ensuring a high-quality service at all times

Requirements

Requirements include:
  • Successfully completed banking training and/or successfully completed a degree in economics or a comparable field of study
  • Several years of professional experience in the area of payment transactions/securities back office
  • Very good knowledge of payment transactions (including SEPA, transfers, direct debits, checks, card payment methods)
  • Good business management knowledge and knowledge of the relevant legal and regulatory requirements of the banking industry, payment transactions, and securities regulations
  • Confident manner paired with a committed personality, high self-motivation and assertiveness, as well as good written and spoken German and English skills.
