Operations Oversight Associate (6-Month Contract)

Nomura is seeking an Operations Oversight Associate in London for a 6-month contract position to manage the day-to-day operations of a critical control environment (CCE) and serve as a point of escalation for internal stakeholders.

Tasks

  • Manage and maintain a robust control environment to minimize control risks and drive the development of a first-class control environment.
  • Serves as an escalation point/SME for internal stakeholders to address issues—compensation, deposit control violations, buy-ins, and operational risk issues.
  • Compile and review daily KRIs and KPIs using dashboards. Ensure that KRIs and KPIs serve as indicators of potential control risks or process issues. Mitigate operational and reputational risks within the function.
  • Regular communication with the larger teams in Powai, India, to mitigate and resolve issues.
  • Participation in key projects, understanding the requirements, and identifying risks.
  • Auditing and verifying client funds.

Requirements

  • Provision of BCP/TRR coverage for all critical processes overseas.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that enable the individual to interact with senior management and other key stakeholders within the function and the company.
  • Effective prioritization and the ability to identify key decisions and align strategies with senior operations management and broader stakeholders.
  • All skills (preferred) / PowerBI (preferred) / Excel skills (required).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in an expanded team environment (onshore and offshore), a strong interest in the role's development, and a passion for new ways of working.
  • Confidence in representing the department in all relevant internal forums as well as in internal and external meetings.
  • A self-starter who is able to work proactively to identify opportunities and find ways to save money.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to keep up with a demanding workload and conflicting priorities.
  • Proactive collaboration with process owners to improve the team.
  • Enhancing operational capabilities: Proactively participating in the provision of additional opportunities to improve team productivity.
