Operations Specialist (Fund & Digital Asset Operations) - 12-Month Contract

Sygnum is seeking an Operations Specialist for a 12-month contract in Singapore to support fund, brokerage, and custody operations in the digital assets sector. The role involves transaction processing, reconciliations, and process optimization in a hybrid work environment.

About the role

  • As an Operations Specialist, you will support fund operations, brokerage, and custody activities while working closely with the investment, client coverage, and technology teams.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in investment funds, asset managers, digital assets, operational controls, and process improvement within a regulated, innovation-driven environment.
  • This is a 12-month contract position based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Operations

  • Process fund subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, and other investor transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform reconciliations and investigate exceptions, discrepancies, and operational breaks.
  • Support NAV calculation and fund accounting oversight activities.
  • Coordinate with portfolio managers, fund administrators, transfer agents, and other service providers to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Supports fund launches, product enhancements, and other operational initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with internal reporting policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Brokerage and Custody Operations

  • Support client onboarding and account maintenance activities.
  • Process, monitor, and reconcile transfers of fiat currency and digital assets.
  • Perform daily cash, position, and digital asset reconciliations, and resolve reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support custody, staking, and fee-related operational activities.
  • Prepare operational, regulatory, and management reports.
  • Monitor operational exceptions and ensure that issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to support efficient and controlled operational processes.

Projects & Process Improvement

  • Participate in operational projects and business initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through process management and automation.
  • Support the implementation, testing, and enhancement of operational systems and workflows.
  • Assist in documenting operational procedures, controls, and best practices.
  • Support data quality, reporting, and process optimization initiatives across operational functions.

Our ideal candidate

  • A degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in fund administration, investment operations, securities operations, banking operations, custody, brokerage operations, or a related financial services environment.
  • Understanding of investment funds, reconciliations, cash management, and operational processes.
  • An interest in digital assets and emerging financial technologies; prior experience with digital asset or cryptocurrency operations would be beneficial but is not required.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting; familiarity with Power Query, PLSA, Python, SQL, or workflow automation tools would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
