ORACLE DATABASE DEVELOPER
Leonteq is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Developer in Lisbon to develop and optimize data warehouses and reporting solutions in the financial sector. The position requires at least five years of experience in Oracle SQL/PL/SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning.
About the Role
- As a Senior Oracle Database Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of our Oracle-based data warehouses and reporting solutions.
- You will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver robust and scalable systems that support mission-critical financial and regulatory processes.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design and development of a data warehouse based on Oracle Database 19c Enterprise Edition
- Develop scalable, efficient, and maintainable PL/SQL code for data movement, transformation, and reporting
- Implement complex reporting solutions in areas such as risk, finance, and regulatory reporting
- Collaborate with business users to understand requirements, workflows, and data needs
- Refactor and enhance legacy systems to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Write clean, reliable code in accordance with Leonteq’s best practices and development standards
- Optimize SQL and PL/SQL code by leveraging advanced Oracle features such as parallel queries, compression, and advanced analytics using techniques such as AWM
- Optimize database and query performance using tools such as AWM and Real-Time SQL Monitoring
- Support data modeling activities using techniques such as Kimball, Data Vault, or 3NF
- Work in an agile, collaborative environment, contributing to design reviews and monitoring.
What You'll Need
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development
- Strong understanding of data modeling for data warehouses, including dimensional modeling, best practices in data warehousing, and normalization techniques
- In-depth knowledge of advanced SQL concepts, including analytical functions, hierarchical queries, complex joins, partitioning, and parallel execution
- Hands-on experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting using Oracle diagnostic tools and profiling (e.g., ASH, AWR)
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative and scalable solutions
- A proactive and independent work style with a strong attention to detail
- Fluency in English, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A solution-oriented mindset and an interest in investment
Nice to Have
- Experience in the financial or insurance industry
- Proficiency in the Python programming language
- Working knowledge of Git version control systems
