Payment Operations Specialist
The Payment Operations Specialist is responsible for monitoring payment transactions, investigating complex cases, and communicating with customers and stakeholders in the Cash Services department at Vontobel in Zurich. The role also includes optimizing processes and improving the straight-through processing (STP) rate.
Your role as a Payment Operations Specialist
- Assumed responsibility for all aspects of cash and liquidity management when processing over 40 currencies in various accounts
- Monitoring the processing of outgoing and incoming payment transactions
- Investigation of complex cases and resolution of setbacks
- Responding to due diligence inquiries with precision and expertise
- Daily challenges in ensuring smooth communication with customers, stakeholders, internal teams, and counterparties
- Contribution to improving the straight-through processing (STP) rate and optimizing processes
Tasks
- Handling a wide range of payment transactions, including outgoing, incoming, and internal orders, as well as standing orders, to ensure smooth and efficient processing
- Taking full responsibility for investigations and setback management, solving complex cases with expertise
- Monitoring the entire due diligence workflow to ensure compliance and accuracy at every step
- Building strong relationships through close collaboration with internal and external customers, suppliers, and service providers
- Resolution of reconciliation items to ensure smooth financial operations
- Administration and monitoring of the RMA tool to ensure secure and efficient communication with correspondent banks
- Monitoring daily liquidity and cash management for our correspondent banks
- Promoting innovation through proactive contributions to process optimization and support for the implementation of new products and projects
Requirements
- Experience: A solid foundation in banking that enables you to navigate the financial world with confidence
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of financial markets and payment services, with practical experience in systems such as Avaloq and SWIFT
- Mindset: You thrive on solving complex challenges, excel at building lasting customer relationships, and have a customer-centric approach in everything you do.
- Languages: Fluent English with solid English skills to communicate effectively in an international environment
