PB Support Specialist for the Americas, Geneva

The PB Support Specialist for the Americas assists Client Relationship Officers in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks, and ensures that business activities in the Americas region comply with internal standards and local regulatory requirements. The role involves monitoring client relationships, conducting data analysis, and approving transactions.

Job Description

This role bridges business requirements with regulatory standards and ensures that regulatory, compliance, and operational processes for activities in the Americas region run smoothly.

Main responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the PB Support unit within the department, with a focus on implementing and executing strategies and ensuring alignment with Swiss standards and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting Client Relationship Officers in proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating risks arising from day-to-day business operations, applying advanced professional expertise and conceptual thinking to complex cases
  • Conducting data analyses on potential and existing customer relationships, ensuring a consistent approach and applying frameworks, processes, and routines that meet regulatory expectations in terms of both timeliness and quality
  • Approval of fund transfers, securities transfers, loan approvals, overdrafts, and transactions involving sanctions within the scope of delegated authority, while ensuring that decisions comply with the standards and specifications applicable to the business
  • Sharing market insights and best practices among client relationship officers, client service officers, and account managers, while establishing and embedding standards that others can use as a guide
  • Ensure timely completion and resolution of outstanding follow-ups related to customer lifecycle activities, while taking responsibility for the delivery of assigned processes/programs that pertain to the department
  • Approving new customer and business provider accounts, monitoring the KYC lifecycle, and conducting periodic reviews within the authority delegated by the HoPB, while ensuring that regulatory and compliance standards are met
  • Act as a key partner for front-office and control functions and as a key link between P&C and SL&OD, ensuring consistent communication with senior management and clear escalation pathways, as well as networking with key contacts at various levels and across internal and external teams
  • Reviewing account openings, CIP notifications, and periodic reviews for the local PBS teams in the region, while providing guidance to enhance our understanding of requirements and control standards

Skills and experience

  • Management of medium-sized projects/construction contracts aimed at improving control standards, documentation quality, and risk mitigation measures
  • Providing guidance and conducting presentation sessions for front-office teams on risk-related topics, control responsibilities, and regulatory expectations, while frequently advising on complex matters within the scope of their expertise
  • Conducting risk assessments, control reviews, and thematic reviews assigned by senior management (line managers, HoPB, and RBH), applying judgment and innovation when issues may not be clearly defined
  • Preparation and presentation of high-risk and sensitive cases to the CAC Committee on behalf of the HoPB
