PB Support Specialist for the Americas, Geneva

The PB Support Specialist for the Americas, based in Geneva, supports business operations in the Americas region by implementing strategies and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves overseeing the execution of operational processes, identifying and mitigating risks, and assisting Client Relationship Officers in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Job Description

This role bridges business needs with regulatory standards and ensures the smooth implementation of regulations, compliance, and operational processes for activities in the Americas region.

Main tasks

  • Responsible for managing the PB Support unit within the department, with a focus on implementing and executing strategies and ensuring alignment with Swiss standards and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting Client Relationship Officers in proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating risks arising from day-to-day business operations, applying advanced professional expertise and conceptual thinking to complex cases
  • Conducting due diligence reviews of potential and existing client relationships to ensure a consistent approach and to apply policies, processes, and procedures that meet regulatory expectations
  • Approval of fund transfers, securities transfers, loan approvals, overdrafts, and transactions subject to sanctions, within the scope of delegated authority, to ensure that decisions comply with the business’s standards and specifications
  • Sharing market insights and best practices among Client Relationship Officers, Client Service Officers, and Account Managers to define and establish standards that others can use as a benchmark
  • Ensure the timely completion of tasks and resolve any outstanding follow-ups related to customer lifecycle activities, while ensuring the delivery of assigned action plans that pertain to the department
  • Approval of new client and business introducer accounts, monitoring of the KYC lifecycle, and periodic reviews within the authority delegated by the HoPB to ensure that monitoring and compliance with standards are consistent with professional expertise
  • Serve as a key senior partner for the front office and control functions and as a vital link between FLOO and SLDO to ensure consistent communication and escalation channels and to establish contacts across multiple teams and levels, both internally and externally
  • Reviewing account openings, CIP changes, and periodic reviews for the local PBS teams in the region, while providing guidance to enhance their understanding of requirements and control standards

Skills and experience

  • Management of medium-sized projects/construction contracts to improve control standards, documentation quality, and risk mitigation measures
  • Leading and conducting presentation sessions for front-office teams on risk-related topics, control obligations, and regulatory expectations; frequently providing advice on complex matters within the scope of their expertise
  • Conducting risk assessments, control reviews, and thematic reviews assigned by senior management (line managers, HoPB, and RBH), applying judgment and innovation when issues may not be clearly defined
  • Preparation and presentation of high-risk and sensitive cases to the CAC Committee on behalf of the HoPB
  • Resolving audit issues
