PB Support Specialist - Middle East CH

The PB Support Specialist assists Client Relationship Officers in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks in day-to-day operations and ensures that all activities comply with internal standards and local regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the first line of defense and fostering a culture of robust risk management.

Job Description

This role is a central component of our private banking risk and control framework and serves as a key partner to client relationship officers and senior management. It ensures that client onboarding, lifecycle management, and transactional activities comply with internal standards and local regulatory requirements. By combining strong technical expertise in compliance and due diligence with the ability to influence and guide front-office teams, this role provides independent challenges, clear guidance, and pragmatic solutions for complex and high-risk situations.

Main tasks

  • Supporting Client Relationship Officers in proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating risks arising from day-to-day business activities
  • Coordinating control activities in accordance with the Global Private Banking Control Blueprint and local regulatory requirements
  • Conducting due diligence on potential and existing client relationships
  • Approval of discounts and securities transfers, loans, exemptions, and transactions subject to sanctions
  • Taking on non-delegated tasks with senior managers and CROs
  • Coordination of cross-functional audits: Ensuring that additional audits are conducted in complex cases, reviewing and finalizing reports for senior management
  • Establishment of a central point of contact for CROs in complex and high-risk cases
  • Declassification/classification and review of results related to matters referred to PECS Capitalisation
  • Ensuring timely completion and resolution of outstanding follow-ups related to customer lifecycle activities
  • Approving business providers and new accounts, monitoring the KYC lifecycle, and conducting periodic reviews within the authority delegated by the HoPB to ensure that monitoring and compliance standards are met

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, economics, or a related field is required
  • At least 5 years of experience in compliance or auditing in the areas of account opening, account verification, and transaction monitoring
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively handle potentially contentious issues
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be flexible, and multitask
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills. A good knowledge of French and German would be an asset
