PB Support Specialist - Middle East CH
The PB Support Specialist is responsible for assisting Client Relationship Officers and senior management in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks associated with private banking activities. The role requires strong technical expertise in compliance and due diligence, as well as the ability to influence decisions and lead front-office teams.
Job Description
This role is a key component of our private banking risk and control framework and works closely with Client Relationship Officers and senior management. It ensures that client onboarding processes, lifecycle management, and transactional activities comply with internal standards and local regulatory requirements.Main tasks
- Supporting Client Relationship Officers in proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating risks arising from day-to-day business activities
- Coordinating control activities in accordance with the Global Private Banking Control Blueprint, while taking local regulatory requirements into account
- Conducting due diligence reviews for potential and existing client relationships
- Approval of money and securities transfers, loans, exemptions, and transactions involving sanctions risks
- Sharing key findings and best practices among client relationship officers, client service officers, and account managers
- Building trusting working relationships with senior management and the CROs
- Active participation in core responsibilities and additional duties, including representing HOPs, reviewing complex client onboarding processes, and communicating with other senior stakeholders, client relationship officers, and account managers
- The following individuals serve as the primary points of contact for CTM in complex and high-risk cases:
- Serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) and gatekeeper for matters related to PEP classification and declassification
- Ensuring timely completion and resolving outstanding follow-ups related to customer lifecycle activities
- Approve, ensuring that HoPB’s monitoring and compliance standards are met, and ensure that the KYC lifecycle and periodic reviews are conducted within the scope of delegated authority
- Serve as the second line of defense for FLDO and SOCC to ensure consistent communication and escalation procedures, including key network contacts, in order to maintain continuity and verify control standards
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, economics, or a related field is required
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance or auditing in the areas of account opening, account verification, and transaction monitoring
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively handle potentially contentious issues
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; flexible, self-motivated, and proactive
- Excellent written and spoken English skills. A good knowledge of French and German would be an asset
