PB Support Specialist - Middle East CH

The PB Support Specialist at EFG International in Geneva is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, due diligence, and risk management in private banking. The position requires at least five years of experience in compliance or auditing, as well as in-depth knowledge of regulation and due diligence.

Tasks

  • Supporting Client Relationship Officers in proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating risks arising from day-to-day business operations
  • Coordination of control activities in accordance with the Global Private Banking Control Blueprint, tailored to local regulatory requirements
  • Conducting due diligence for potential and existing client relationships
  • Approval of Money and Securities Transfers, Loans, Overdrafts, and Transactions Subject to Sanctions
  • Sharing practical knowledge and best practices among client relationship officers, client service officers, and account managers
  • Building trusting working relationships with senior management and CROs
  • Effective contribution to core responsibilities and the handling of complex cases, as well as confident presentations to various senior managers
  • Serving as the single point of contact (SPOC) and gatekeeper for deactivations
  • Serving as the F.I.U.O. Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for complex and high-risk cases
  • Ensuring that tasks are completed on time and that any outstanding follow-up tasks are addressed
  • Assistance with customer acquisition when a more experienced colleague is unavailable
  • Approval of customers and new accounts through business onboarding, monitoring of the KYC process
  • Ensuring that HOPBs comply with regulatory and compliance standards
  • Serve as the central liaison between FIUO and SUDIO to ensure consistency across key contacts within the organization
  • Auditing account openings, CIP changes, and periodic reviews; confirming understanding of requirements and control standards; developing the ability to conduct these audits independently through training
  • Staying up to date on local regulatory changes and control best practices
  • Providing guidelines in specific high-risk areas (e.g., complex structures, unusual jurisdictional exposure, PEPs, sanctioned entities)
  • Serves as a trusted representative of the HOPBS and the team, whether by leading, supporting, or representing the team in meetings, giving presentations to senior stakeholders, or managing complex reviews

Requirements

  • A college degree in business administration, finance, law, economics, or a related field is required
  • At least 5 years of prior experience in compliance or auditing in the banking sector, monitoring
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with people at all levels in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, to multitask flexibly while setting clear priorities and maintaining focus
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills. Working knowledge of French and German would be an asset.
