PBS - Business Support
The PBS - Business Support position at TRENDmicro in Hong Kong involves overseeing the risk-controlled operations of the private banking function, as well as coordinating strategic projects and regulatory compliance. We are seeking a candidate with 8 to 12 years of experience in private banking or wealth management who has in-depth knowledge of banking processes and regulations.
Tasks
- Lead and oversee an effective, risk-controlled, and regulatory-compliant operating environment for the Private Banking (PB) function in Hong Kong, serving as a key partner to PB management and the group heads of marketing.
- Driving and sponsoring industry-wide initiatives and PB-related strategic projects, with a clear focus on impact assessment, processes and procedures, staff training, and ensuring timely change management.
- Serves as the central coordination and escalation point for complex problems, complaints, incidents, risks, and compliance matters, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication to senior stakeholders.
- Conducting data-driven analyses and management reporting, including the preparation and quality assurance of high-quality presentation materials for senior management and executive meetings on key deliverables and strategic initiatives.
- Responsibility for and oversight of PB’s responses to audits and regulatory inspections; ensuring robust remediation plans and appropriate PB follow-up actions. Overall compliance of PB with all regulatory findings.
- Oversee the onboarding and training frameworks for PB and customer-facing staff regarding systems, processes, policies, and procedures, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with regulatory and internal standards.
- Responsible for establishing suitability assessment processes in the front office; identifying and driving opportunities for improvement and expansion; and engaging stakeholders and delivering results according to agreed-upon timelines.
- Representing the Front Office in working groups and forums to promote significant changes to systems and processes as needed.
- Partnership with Business Risk Management to continuously strengthen the proactive identification of emerging risks.
- Driving customer-centric process improvements that deliver a better customer experience, higher service standards, and improved efficiency and operational excellence.
- Ensuring that the company's conduct and risk model align with the Group's values, with clear expectations and standards for the extended team.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, and contribute to talent development within PB&COO Business Support.
Requirements
- A degree with 8–12 years of experience in a private banking or wealth management environment, including experience in risk/control or as a COO or head of a head office department (COO or head of a business division).
- Extensive and broad knowledge of banking processes, products, and regulations, with a proven ability to advise senior stakeholders based on practical regulatory requirements, including the Regulatory Framework System for advising on regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize complex topics and present clear recommendations to management.
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus.
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to handle stress; capable of working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and delivering results in a rapidly changing environment.
- A strategic and innovative mindset, with the ability to challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational expansion; a strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability.
