LGT Capital Partners is looking for a PE Analyst (Private Equity) to join its team in London to assist in the valuation and analysis of private equity funds and their portfolio companies. The position is part of a 2-year analyst program with development opportunities to Associate.

Our Private Markets Investment Management department is looking for an Analyst to join our Private Equity Fund Investments (Primaries) team in London, UK. The LGT Capital Partners Private Markets Analyst Program offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to embark on an exciting career with a leading alternative investment specialist in the private markets space. The Analyst Program is structured as a 2-year full-time role, with the opportunity for outstanding candidates to continue their career at LGT Capital Partners as an Associate.

Tasks

  • Analysis of private equity funds across different regions, sectors and market segments (from small, emerging managers to established, upper mid-market companies)
  • Contribution to due diligence processes, including:
    • Analysis of the strategy of private equity funds
    • Analysis and benchmarking of historical performance using proprietary tools and databases
    • Detailed re-signing of portfolio companies / financial modeling
    • Reference calls
    • In-person DD meetings
    • Legal negotiations
  • Preparing investment memoranda and answering questions from LGT CP's Investment Committee and LGT CP's client base
  • Maintaining and building LGT CP's network and relationships with PE managers:
    • Participation in update meetings with existing and potential new PE fund managers
    • Participation in annual general meetings

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. finance, economics, business administration)
  • Ideally experience in an investment bank, management consultancy or similar field
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact confidently and professionally with colleagues and senior industry professionals
  • Genuine interest in quantitative and qualitative analysis and valuation of private equity funds and their underlying portfolio companies, as well as evaluating team dynamics and culture of private equity managers
  • A self-starter with an inquisitive mind, an eye for detail and excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines
