Periodic Review Compliance Officer
As a Periodic Review Compliance Officer at Julius Baer in Singapore, you will support the CRO team in ensuring compliance with international AML/KYC regulations and conducting client risk assessments. The position requires 8–10 years of experience in wealth management as well as strong analytical skills to ensure compliance during periodic reviews.
YOUR CHALLENGE
- Support the CRO and senior management of the BJBS branch in ensuring compliance with all international regulations in the areas mentioned above and actively manage operational, reputational, and regulatory risks
- Member of the Periodic Review team of compliance officers supporting the BJBS Branch.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as the BJBS Front Office, Client Delivery Services (CDS), KYC/AML/Onboarding, AML Investigations, and Risk Management teams.
- Support the Head of AML/KYC in Singapore and the Head of Periodic Review in the Compliance department’s review of existing client relationships, portfolios, and accounts recorded in BJBS, as well as the Director responsible for new/incremental KYC/CDD risk assessments throughout the duration of the client’s relationship with BJBS.
- Collaborate with and guide local and overseas Relationship Managers (e.g., Hong Kong, Thailand, Dubai) in their periodic review submissions, including changes to KYC profiles, changes to account structures, and newly identified adverse news and risk factors.
- Assist with and support ad hoc KYC/CDD-related tasks and inquiries from regulators, auditors (internal and external), and Head Office.
- Review clients’ profiles for the relevant periodic review period to ensure compliance with internal requirements and the latest regulatory requirements regarding AML/CFT/KYC standards; ensure the completeness, consistency, and accuracy of KYC information, the adequate scope of the risk assessment, and the narrative and reasonableness of the plausibility assessment.
- Conduct client risk assessments and due diligence analyses, focusing on high- and highest-risk clients.
- Assess and address AML/CFT-related regulatory inspections, external and/or internal audits, and any increased risk noted in the client profile.
- Review and evaluate name screenings to facilitate periodic reviews (Google, WorldCheck, Factiva).
- Conduct a transaction review for all transactions that occurred during the relevant review period.
- Ensure that KYC/CDD issues are properly identified, assessed, and documented.
- Timely escalations when KYC/CDD measures cannot be completed, especially when suspension is required.
Requirements
- Team player. Previous experience as a team lead is a plus.

- Excellent command of spoken and written English; proficiency in other Asian language(s)
- At least 8–10 years of experience in either client onboarding/periodic review and/or AML-related banking/wealth management
- A strong academic background and a solid understanding of the private banking and wealth management industry
- Thorough knowledge of the MAS 626 Notice and Guidelines
- Experience in managing CML/QFL-related regulatory inspections, external and/or internal audits, and strategic projects
- Proficient with PC applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
