Periodic Review Compliance Officer
Julius Baer is seeking a Periodic Review Compliance Officer in Singapore to ensure ongoing KYC/AML compliance and risk assessment of existing client relationships within the CRO department. The position requires 8–10 years of experience in KYC/AML in wealth management, as well as in-depth knowledge of MAS regulations.
Tasks
- Support the CRO and senior management of the BJS branch in ensuring compliance with existing internal policies in the areas mentioned, as well as actively managing operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- A member of the Periodic Review Team, composed of compliance officers, that supports the BJS branch office.
- Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, such as BJS Front Office, Client Donee Services (CDS), KYC/AML Onboarding, AML Investigations, and Compliance team members.
- Assist the Head of AML/KYC Singapore and the Head of Periodic Review in managing ongoing compliance and conducting periodic compliance reviews of existing client relationships, portfolios, and accounts held at the BJS branch, including the assessment of new or incremental KYC/CDD risks identified during the course of the client relationship with BJS.
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to local and international relationship managers (e.g., Hong Kong, Thailand, Guam, Dubai) regarding their periodic review submissions, including KYC profile changes, changes to account structures, and new or identified negative news and risk factors.
- Providing support for ad hoc KYC/CDD-related matters and inquiries from regulatory authorities, auditors (internal and external), and headquarters.
- Review the customer profile for the relevant period to ensure compliance with internal and external policies or regulations. Maintain high standards for customer documentation, ensuring the completeness, consistency, and accuracy of KYC information, as well as an appropriate history of wealth accumulation, a legally sound narrative, and the plausibility of the assessment.
- Conducting customer risk assessments and due diligence analyses with a focus on high-risk or increased-risk transactions, regulatory changes or enforcement actions, recent negative media reports about the customer or the company, CDD/KYC data, and sanctions.
- Performing all tasks necessary to ensure that the client continues to meet our risk profile and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ensuring that KYC/CDD issues are properly identified, assessed, and documented.
- Timely escalation when KYC/CDD measures cannot be completed, particularly when monitoring the counterparty is complicated due to the entity’s structure or legal form (e.g., trusts, foundations).
Requirements
- Team player; previous experience as a team leader is a plus.

- Strong analytical skills; detail-oriented.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English; knowledge of other Asian languages is a plus.
- At least 8–10 years of experience in a KYC onboarding/periodic review and/or AML role.
- Industry: Banking/Wealth Management.
- A solid educational background and understanding of the private banking and wealth management industry.
- Thorough knowledge of MAS 626 Notice & Guidelines.
- Experience managing AML/KYC-related regulatory reviews, external and/or internal audits, and strategic projects.
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
