Platform Engineer - Infrastructure Control Plane & Workflow Automation 100% (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of Crossplane, a Kubernetes-native control plane, including building providers and features in Go according to the Kubernetes Operator pattern (for built-in cluster-oriented purposes or other Operator pattern features, build the respective higher-level structures that encapsulate the cluster operator) or features in Go
• Design and expansion of self-service infrastructure offerings that enable product teams to reliably provision and manage their own resources at scale
• Set up and maintain workflow automation on our orchestration platform, including reviewing the underlying business logic in JavaScript and other scripting languages
• Assistance with the evaluation and migration to a new automation tool stack, where adaptability is key
• Empowering and coaching product teams as they build and expand their own automations on our platform through documentation, workshops, and hands-on guidance—supporting our “you build, we run” strategy beyond simply building the platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical strategies
• Contribute technical expertise to the team and help shape technical roadmaps and standards for our automation platforms
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across the control plane and automation workflows
• Staying up to date on the latest trends in cloud-native computing, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation, and applying this knowledge to continuously improve our solutions
• Contributions to technical documentation, including design documents, implementation guidelines, and standardized operating procedures
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, best practices, and organizational policies

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in developing and operating Kubernetes operators, ideally using the Crossplane framework, for provisioning and continuously balancing resources
• Experience in building or expanding workflow automation tools, including: writing business logic in JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, or similar languages—deep expertise in a specific vendor tool is not required, as we understand that tools change over time
• Expert knowledge of Kubernetes and the cloud-native computing ecosystem
• Strong understanding of software development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles
• Experience with Golang and at least one scripting language, such as JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python
