Platform Owner (Full-Time) (f/m/d)

Julius Baer is seeking a Platform Owner to lead and oversee the technical vision and operations of its global data platform offering. The successful candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in technical roles at large, regulated companies and possess experience in the field of data platforms.

Your challenge

As a Platform Owner, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Define and maintain the end-to-end technical vision, the multi-year roadmap, and the lifecycle strategy for the global data platform
  • Gather feedback and build relationships with your current and potential user base
  • Ensure that the technical vision and roadmap support current and future business goals
  • Ensure the platform’s scalability, reliability, performance, and security by embedding non-functional requirements (NFRs), observability, automation, and “resilience-by-design” principles
  • Lead the prioritization and delivery of platform features and capabilities by collaborating with the product manager, Scrum Masters, development teams, system architects, and release train engineers to coordinate work across Agile teams
  • Manage the platform backlog, ensure that there are clear initiatives, features, and user stories, and prioritize delivery by balancing the trade-offs between innovation, technical debt reduction, and operational stability
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for incidents, issues, audits, and risk findings related to the platform
  • Establish and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs; use metrics and OKRs to measure platform health, usage, team performance, and business value
  • Drive standardization, reuse, and simplification across the platform ecosystem to reduce complexity, improve interoperability, and accelerate time to market
  • Coach and lead technical leads and development teams by promoting best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and incident response
  • Develop the target operating model for platform operations—including staffing, governance, RACI definitions, and handover processes—to support sustainable growth and efficient operational models
  • Represent the platform in executive forums and governance bodies by communicating progress, risks, investments, and strategic decisions to stakeholders in technology and business units

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:
  • Degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in technical roles at large, regulated companies—preferably in the financial services sector
  • Proven experience in implementing, managing, or scaling large data platforms—preferably big data technology
  • Proven experience in defining and delivering technical platform visions and roadmaps within organizations
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and applying proven technical leadership and systems thinking to minimize technical barriers while optimizing business value and platform sustainability
  • Excellent technical leadership and a systems-oriented approach to balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform sustainability
  • Strong communication skills in all areas
