Platform Owner (Full-Time) (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Defining and maintaining the end-to-end technical vision, the multi-year roadmap, and the lifecycle strategy for the global data platform
• Identifying requirements and maintaining relationships with current and potential consumer business units
• Ensuring that the technology vision and roadmap support current and future business objectives
• Responsibility for the platform's scalability, reliability, performance, and security, including non-functional requirements (NFRs), observability, automation, and "resilience-by-design" principles
• Lead the prioritization and delivery of platform features and capabilities in collaboration with product managers, Scrum Masters, development teams, system architects, and release train engineers to coordinate work across agile teams
• Responsibility for the platform backlog; ensuring that technical issues and user stories are clearly defined; prioritizing delivery while balancing innovation, reducing technical debt, and maintaining operational stability
• Serve as the central technical escalation point for incidents, issues, audits, and risk findings related to the platform
• Establishing and monitoring KPIs and SLAs; using metrics and OKRs to measure business adoption, team performance, and the business value delivered
• Promoting standardization, reuse, and simplification across the entire platform ecosystem to reduce complexity, improve interoperability, and accelerate time to market
• Supporting and guiding technical leads and development teams, promoting best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and incident resolution
• Design of the target operating model for platform operations—including workforce planning, governance, RACI matrices, and knowledge management
• Ensuring the operational stability of the underlying infrastructure
• Ensuring a smooth transition and the handover of discontinued functions
• Participation in Community of Practice activities with other platform owners
• Representing the platform in executive forums and committees; presenting progress, risks, investments, and strategic decisions to stakeholders in technology or business units

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience in technology roles within large, regulated companies—preferably in the financial services sector
• Proven experience in owning, managing, or scaling large-scale data platforms—preferably big data technology
• Proven success in defining and implementing technical platform visions and roadmaps in enterprise environments
• Experience in the role of a product manager for big data technology
• Strong communication skills at all levels; ability to summarize complex issues for management/leadership while also discussing them in greater depth with technical teams
• Excellent written communication skills—ability to clearly document technical positioning, roadmaps, and trade-offs
• Experience working within complex organizational dependencies, including regulatory, compliance, and security-related frameworks
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with stakeholders from technical, business, and regulatory fields
• Experience in data lifecycle management, data quality, and master data management—ideally in the financial services sector
• Familiarity with areas of data orchestration, including data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data virtualization
