Portfolio Analyst
The Portfolio Analyst supports the investment team in validating investment signals and analyzing portfolios to ensure the integrity of the investment philosophy. The role also involves working with large amounts of data, developing tools for evaluating portfolios, and communicating with clients.
Role Overview
The Portfolio Analyst position encompasses a wide range of research, investment, and technical responsibilities as part of the Alternative Solutions team. The Solutions team works closely with a team of portfolio managers and other talented professionals to implement Numerics' investment strategies. This includes validating inputs for our models and outputs from quantitative research, which are used to create customized solutions for investors. The Portfolio Analyst position is within the Investment Research and Solutions team and performs analysis and provides information for client communications.Primary Responsibilities
The main tasks include:- Collaborate with portfolio managers to validate the inputs and outputs of our investment signals and assist with the day-to-day management of the position.
- Analysis of the output of our portfolio construction process to ensure the integrity of our investment philosophy
- Supporting the research and portfolio management teams in improving existing signals and creating new ones
- Working with large data sets and identifying data quality issues
- Development of tools for evaluating portfolio support and performance
- Conducting analyses for customer communication and presentations
Qualifications
The requirements include:- At least a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, economics, or accounting
- Previous experience in coding with Python, Matlab, or similar languages
- Encouraging graduates to apply
- 0-3 years of experience in quantitative analysis preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting and financial analysis
- Strong programming and statistical analysis skills
- Strong work ethic and results-oriented schedule
- Detail-oriented; good verbal and written communication skills and a cooperative personality
- Strong sense of integrity

The expected base salary for this position is between $85,000 and $130,000 USD. The compensation package also includes benefits and a discretionary bonus.
