Portfolio Analyst

The Portfolio Analyst supports the investment team in analyzing and managing portfolios, including validating investment signals and performing risk analyses. The role requires strong analytical skills, programming knowledge, and experience in the financial industry, with a salary ranging from $85,000 to $130,000 per year.

Job description

The role of Portfolio Analyst encompasses a wide range of research, investment, and technical responsibilities as part of the Alternatives Investment team. This role is part of our high conviction position and works closely with a team of portfolio managers and other investment professionals to implement Numerix's investment strategies.

Primary responsibilities

  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to validate the inputs and outputs of our investment signals and assist with the day-to-day management of the portfolio
  • Analysis of the output of our portfolio construction process to ensure the integrity of our investment philosophy
  • Supporting the research and portfolio management teams in improving existing signals and creating new ones
  • Collaborating with large data sets and tools with external data suppliers to identify data quality issues
  • Development of tools for evaluating portfolio support and performance
  • Conducting analyses for customer communication and presentations

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, or accounting
  • Previous experience with coding in Python, Matlab, or similar languages
  • Previous graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 0-3 years of experience in quantitative analysis preferred
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial analysis
  • Strong programming and statistical analysis skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and time management
  • Detail-oriented, good verbal and written communication skills, and a cooperative personality
  • Strong sense of integrity
