Portfolio Analyst, Tax-Savvy
The Portfolio Analyst supports the portfolio management team in implementing investment strategies and gains experience in portfolio management, investment analysis, and quantitative research. The role offers the opportunity to develop technical and analytical skills in quantitative asset management and to acquire a basic understanding of financial markets, portfolio construction, and risk concepts.
Purpose of the role
The role of Portfolio Analyst offers an exceptional opportunity to develop core skills in portfolio management, investment analysis, and quantitative research as part of the Tax-Aware team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced investment managers and portfolio managers to support research, investment decisions, and the implementation of investment strategies. This includes assisting with portfolio construction, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to performance analysis.Specific responsibilities
- Supporting the portfolio management team in the day-to-day implementation of investment strategies
- Supporting portfolio analysts with trade preparation, data validation, and portfolio performance evaluation
- Assistance with preparing client materials, including performance commentary and market updates
- Maintaining and improving internal tools, databases, and systems used by the team
- Participation in research and projects under the guidance of experienced team members
- Collaboration with the research group to test and validate model improvements
Key competencies
- 0–2 years of experience in portfolio management, investment research, or a related quantitative field (relevant experience will be considered)
- Strong technical skills with databases, tools, and programming languages (e.g., Python, Excel)
- A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, engineering)
- Basic understanding of financial markets, portfolio construction, and risk management concepts
- Knowledge of Python, R, or other technical/programming skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- A willingness to learn and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- A strong sense of integrity and the ability to work ethically
Salary and benefits
The estimated base salary for this position ranges from $86,000 to $130,000. The compensation package also includes benefits and a discretionary bonus.Inclusion, work-life balance and benefits
