Portfolio Services, Officer

The job of Portfolio Services Officer at State Street Investment Management in Tokyo involves overseeing outsourced operational functions and working with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with service level agreements. The employee will report directly to the Head of Portfolio Services Group in Tokyo.

Summary of the role

Portfolio Services is responsible for the effective and efficient monitoring of operational functions carried out by internal/external providers, including our Group companies.

Tasks

  • Effective monitoring of outsourced operational functions performed by internal/external parties including Group companies
  • Daily operations related to trade/order processing, accounting (portfolio accounting, brokers, etc.), internal controls. Trade orders and confirmations via internal systems and in connection with derivatives (SWAP, futures, options, etc.)
  • Other operational tasks (regulatory reporting, client reporting, AML/KYC tasks, etc.) and initiatives
  • Support for inquiries from internal and external parties
  • Extensive communication with the business to enable effective and accurate operational delivery
  • Assistance in the development of the team
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain an effective change management program that ensures ongoing ability to meet business, customer and regulatory requirements

Requirements

Experience, qualifications, skills and attributes

  • University degree required
  • 10+ years of experience as an SFP professional. Experience in the financial services sector, especially in investment management, preferred
  • Broad-based experience focused on risk management or audit experience preferred
  • Team player and self-motivated professional with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong English language skills, both written and oral
  • Native Japanese and English skills preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Basic project management skills
