Principal, Capital Planning & Portfolio Lead, Infrastructure Services

Role Description

• The role of Principal Technology Portfolio Lead is a senior strategic leadership position responsible for enhancing the planning, budgeting, governance, optimization, and financial management of a multidisciplinary technology portfolio. This includes Financial Planning & Analysis, Capital Management, Data Center, and Enterprise Technology Services.
• This role serves as the primary leader responsible for overseeing technology planning, finance, and the Management Information and Business Services teams to ensure operational excellence, strategic alignment, and optimal use of resources.
• The portfolio encompasses IT infrastructure and related business functions, including technology services, cloud operations, and financial performance management.
• This role establishes standards, sets financial guidelines or works to optimize them, and oversees the use of technology systems, including data center operations, application optimization, software engineering, enterprise technology management, data center systems, and managed services.
• This position assesses the ability to influence business decisions to ensure alignment between IT investments and business objectives.

Core Responsibilities

• Financial Management of the Technology Portfolio
  • Management and administration of the entire technology and finance portfolio, including infrastructure, cloud, application architecture, cybersecurity, data platforms, and enterprise services.
  • Managing the annual budget planning process, from business requirements through monthly forecasts with year-over-year comparisons, to financial planning and management.
  • Developing and monitoring budget execution, including reporting against business and company-wide goals.
  • Measuring and forecasting the impact of budget adjustments, capacity utilization, performance trends, capitalization, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with technology leaders to ensure the allocation of funding and resources across strategic priorities.
• Capital Expenditures
  • Management of the governance framework for technology capital and investment positions.
  • Collaboration with owners of service platforms on life-cycle and investment decisions.
  • Tracking capital commitments, expenditures, and benefits.
  • Monitoring of governance activities, funding allocations, or budget reallocations.
