**Principal, Client Technology Response Program**

The Principal Client Technology Response Program is responsible for handling client inquiries and audits in the Information Risk and Security Controls area at Northern Trust. The position requires technical expertise, excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and in a project-oriented manner.

Job description

Tasks

  • Delivering a high quality product to customers and internal stakeholders, including but not limited to:
    • Customer due diligence questions
    • New business propositions
    • Customer due diligence visits and customer on-site audits
    • Other ad hoc requests relating to Northern Trust's information risk and security controls
  • Ensure that responses are professional, clear, factual and easy to understand for the target audience
  • Work with clients and internal stakeholders to meet their expectations in terms of time, content and quality
  • Participation in customer on-site audits and due diligence visits
  • Manage the program knowledge base to ensure it is accurate, up-to-date and in line with the overall strategy
  • Forwarding customer control concerns and issues to appropriate subject matter experts or control owners
  • Proactively informing subject matter experts or control owners about emerging trends in clients' control prospects
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the process and knowledge base
  • Mentoring other team members of the Client Technology Response program

Requirements

  • Technical experience in the security aspects of computer designs, operating systems, software, communications and network protocols or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Skills and knowledge

  • Highly organized with solid planning and time management skills
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proactive self-starter, able to get things done without minimal supervision
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to communicate technical topics to customers and partners in easy-to-understand terms
  • Display a sense of urgency when necessary to meet customer deadlines
  • Ability to deliver high quality results on time
  • Good understanding of technology risks, systems and related issues
  • Ability to proactively assess problems, identify solutions and solve problems
  • Ability to adapt and respond positively to a changing and dynamic work environment
  • Flexible approach to changing working methods, deadlines and variable workloads
