Principal, Digital Infrastructure Private Equity - AIP

BlackRock is seeking a Principal for its Digital Infrastructure Private Equity team in New York who has experience in private equity investments and digital infrastructure and is capable of leading complex transactions. The Principal will play a leading role in identifying, evaluating, and executing investments in digital infrastructure.

About the position

Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a division of BlackRock, is seeking a Principal for its Digital Infrastructure Private Equity Investment Team. The Principal will play a leading role in identifying, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and monitoring investments in data centers and other digital infrastructure subsectors.

Tasks

The main tasks include:
  • Due Diligence & Deal Execution: Leading the execution of transactions, including underwriting, financial modeling, structuring, due diligence, legal documentation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Identifying and executing investment opportunities in data centers and other digital infrastructure subsectors.
  • Leading deal teams, engaging with senior management teams and counterparties, and contributing to portfolio value growth.

Requirements

The requirements for this position are:
  • 10+ years of experience in private equity investing and/or investment banking, with a strong preference for prior private equity experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital infrastructure, including data centers, fiber optics, cell towers, and landlines.
  • Proven track record in initiating, managing, and executing complex transactions.
  • Superior financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and execute deals and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent negotiation, influence, and communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic, common sense, and a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
