Principal – GitHub & Azure DevOps Platform Engineering

Job description

We are looking for a Principal Engineer for GitHub and Azure DevOps Platform Engineering. This role focuses primarily on building, maintaining, and optimizing high-performance, scalable architectures, as well as implementing and modernizing our enterprise software delivery platforms. You will serve as a technical leader, guiding and coaching a team of engineers and architects, ensuring adherence to DevOps principles, promoting the development of technical standards and best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading complex engineering initiatives, strong expertise in GitHub, Azure DevOps, and related DevOps tools, and exceptional communication skills. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, secure, and efficient CI/CD pipelines; automating build, test, deployment, and monitoring processes; collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (product managers, quality engineers, operations teams, etc.) and other engineering teams and platforms to ensure alignment with business goals, the platform roadmap, and the strategic direction. This position requires a hands-on technical leader who sets the technical vision, architecture, and design; empowers organizations and platforms; and serves as an advocate for advanced engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Architecture

• Development and implementation of end-to-end platform strategies for GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Nexus
• Ensuring the robustness, scalability, and maintainability of the platform services
• Aligning the technical architecture with organizational goals
• Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization, and cloud optimization for the platform
• Overseeing the Implementation of Platform Observability, Resilience, and Governance Principles
• Collaborate with product and security teams to implement Zero Trust and DevSecOps best practices
• Ensuring that the platform supports business requirements for compliance and auditing
• Managing the integration of native and custom tools to ensure a cohesive and seamless platform
• Using GitHub Copilot to Optimize Software Development and Deployment
• Use of AI-powered tools to improve efficiency in pipeline automation, error analysis, and secure development practices
• Evaluation and Recommendation of Automated Monitoring, Observability, and Self-Healing Mechanisms for Improved Reliability

DevOps Engineering & CI/CD Engineering

• Design and implementation of enterprise-level CI/CD pipelines with secure build processes and automated deployment
• Design and Implementation of Secure, Automated Deployment Processes
• Integration with service discovery, load balancing, monitoring, and auto-scaling configurations
• Automation of cloud infrastructure provisioning (container orchestration, networking, etc.)
• Optimization of cloud and network architecture, including load balancing, scaling, and disaster recovery strategies
• Implementation and enforcement of Infrastructure-as-Code best practices (e.g., Terraform, Helm) to ensure consistent,
