About the role
The Principal Quant role is part of the Algo Research team and focuses on researching, developing, and managing strategies to enhance Man Group's global trading in financial markets using high-frequency techniques.
Main tasks
- High-frequency alpha research: Design, implementation, and deployment of tick data features and machine learning models for short horizons
- Trade strategy management: writing strategy logic, performing post-trade analysis, and managing production deployments of high-frequency execution algorithms
- Global asset class coverage: Supporting Man Group's internal algorithmic trading for global equities, global futures, and other liquid electronic asset classes
- Stakeholder management: Regular communication of updates and plans with research management, global trade, and executive management
Requirements and key competencies
- 5+ years of experience in quantitative finance, ideally at a proprietary trading firm or hedge fund
- 2+ years of experience with high-frequency tick data
- 2+ years of experience in high-frequency trading strategy or high-frequency execution algorithm design or analysis
- 1+ years of experience with C++ or similar
- Experience with machine learning techniques is an advantage
- Ph.D. or exceptional master's/bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject
- Expertise in Python and Unix environments
- Proficiency in C++, Java, or another low-level language
- Ability to write clear, concise, and informative technical research reports
Remuneration
The expected salary range for this position is: $206,680 - $295,500 USD
The compensation packages also include benefits and a discretionary bonus.
