Principal, Software Quality Engineering

Tasks

• Development and maintenance of operational plans for assigned projects.
• Determining the scope of testing and defining the associated quality management plans.
• Review and feedback on requirements and designs.
• Creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Identifying and resolving problems and errors in software products.
• Leading and mentoring a team of testers, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress.
• Participation in quality audits and meetings.
• Analysis of results and reporting on quality metrics.
• Collaborate with developers and project managers to ensure that quality standards are met.
• Implementation and enforcement of quality processes and standards.
• Mentoring and coaching junior testers on best practices and techniques.
• Promoting continuous improvement in software quality.
• Providing guidance and direction to the testing team.
• Ensuring compliance with project schedules and budgets.
• Promoting communication between stakeholders, developers, and the test team.
• Familiar with API testing as well as agile development, testing, and automation.
• Led a team of senior engineers in software QA, specializing in the .NET domain (C#, .NET Core/Console, Xamarin, WPF, desktop, mobile), and is familiar with Spring/MVC/DDD, including microservices, web services, domain-driven design, and object-oriented programming (OOP)/SOAP.
• Familiar with at least one of the following: Selenium or micro-purchases.
• Understanding of automation and scripting.

• Ability to deliver and maintain quality for one or more technologies implemented in DevOps.
• General Knowledge.
• Experience in designing and implementing a test suite -- Familiarity with writing parameterized unit tests using MSTest/Xunit.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with technical and business partners.

Requirements

• At least 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
• A bachelor's degree or relevant experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• In-depth knowledge of testing methods, tools, and processes.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership and mentoring skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with cloud-based testing environments is a plus.
