Principal, Software Quality Engineering
Northern Trust is looking for a Principal Software Quality Engineer in Chicago with 5–10 years of experience who specializes in software test automation and collaborating with developers. The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of Java, SQL, microservices, and common testing frameworks such as Selenium.
Tasks
- Automation, Mentoring, and Guidelines for Project Automation
- Advanced Project Work with Training Management and Process Management
- Collaboration with NTA architects and developers on the design of technical applications
- Technical coaching and skills for implementing project integration and test integration
- Design and management of the test development infrastructure to ensure successful test results
- Research on automation, tool design, and ensuring a positive trust management experience
- In-depth expertise in interviewing and testing for defects in Azure
- Effective Communication with Technical and Subject- Matter Experts
- Implementing Impressive Improvements in the Automation of Software Testing Efforts
- Maintenance and SSO to Ensure Technical Capabilities and Effectiveness
- Analysis and Support for the Implementation of Automated QA Testing Processes
- Building and maintaining working relationships within and outside the team
- Consulting on automation technologies, standards, and best practices
- Providing an automated tool-based approach to automation testing
- Ensuring that automation tests are of high quality and provide useful feedback to the team
- Tracking Automation Activities and Operational Health
- Automating reports and providing data to various systems and processes for optimal functional integration
- Interest in multi-firm design and complete system architecture
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience, including at least 8 years in engineering and in the industry (e.g., banking systems, consumer banking, payment processing, loans, and trading)
- Project experience with: New Poker-NTBS, NTBS-GTS/NTG, NTBS-GTS / GTS-HS
- Knowledge of the following systems: ORBS SEAP, NATS, NTFS with AUTOMAX: ELONG, NIPS
- Excellent knowledge of BS-LC and agile development practices
- Experience with Java and application-based C/C#/.NET programming concept testing (automation framework)
- Experience with testing/CBDE tools—Selenium, AutoIT, Tech (Robotics App, etc.)
- Expert in SQL queries, test cases, and architectures
- Familiarity with microservices and APIs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use tools to create high-quality initiatives and documented test cases/frameworks
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to interact with business partners
- Proven ability to collaborate in global, cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of the banking/financial sector
- Experience at major banks
