Private Bankers
Barclays is seeking a Private Banker in London (hybrid) to manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients (HNWI/UHNW) and achieve P&L targets through active new business development and comprehensive wealth management advice.
Tasks
- Provision of private banking services as part of our wealth management offering, tailored to high-net-worth (HNWI) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
- Providing services to private clients in areas such as general advisory services, wealth management, cash management, trusts and estates, tax optimization reporting, and consulting services.
- Use of internal client reporting tools, wealth planning tools, and digital apps (Mobile Client App) to enhance the value of private banking for clients.
- Manage and develop a portfolio of relationship-based revenue (both existing and new) within agreed-upon P&L targets.
- Demonstration of a solid understanding of macroeconomic, tourism-related, and metropolitan factors, as well as market and socioeconomic factors, that influence clients’ investment and broader financial planning needs.
- Identifying, researching, and proactively suggesting wealth planning opportunities for clients (including advice on asset protection, estate planning, tax optimization, and succession planning).
- Identification and recommendation of a range of investment options, including stocks, bonds, alternative investments, private equity, fund mandates, and structured products (structured loans, managed futures, direct commodity exposure, FX, etc.).
- Focus on business development; expanding the client portfolio through the company's own network and referrals from existing clients, as well as serving as the primary point of contact for referrals to the team.
Requirements
- A proven track record in developing and expanding a client portfolio, including positions in banking, investment, or comparable wealth management roles.
- Experience in managing high-value customer relationships and delivering a 5-star level of service.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and products, including investment products and derivatives.
- Experience in providing wealth management consulting services to private clients and/or in relationship management for private clients.
- Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to wealth management.
- A demonstrable commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Strong business acumen and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding business goals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Certification in professional qualifications such as CFA, CFP, or equivalents.
- Commitment to upholding high ethical and professional standards.
