Job description

The Private Banking Support Manager role is a senior specialized position within the Private Banking Support team, responsible for providing high-quality Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) and AML/KYC support to the private banking business in the United Kingdom.

Tasks and responsibilities

The Private Banking Support Manager will:
  • Review and evaluate client profiles to ensure strict compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for complex or high-risk CLM cases and provide guidance to the client relationship teams.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, streamline CLM workflows, and reduce risks within the PBS division.
  • Provide training and guidance to front-office staff on CLM, AML/KYC, and related processes to promote best practices and ensure consistent execution of processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to improving team quality and consistency by sharing expertise and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and ownership.
  • Independently manage ad hoc projects and tasks delegated by the PBS Director, or lead smaller or less complex projects or subprojects within larger initiatives.
  • Take on various ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by the PBS Director and ensure that they are completed on time and effectively.

Requirements

  • A deep understanding of AML/KYC regulations, cross-border risks, and comprehensive regulatory compliance frameworks, along with the ability to interpret and apply evolving requirements in a private banking context.
  • Strong risk management skills, demonstrating the ability to balance complex objectives with the effective implementation of controls and the mitigation of operational and reputational risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage, influence, and challenge stakeholders at all levels and across multiple business functions.
  • The ability to work independently, effectively manage competing priorities, and make well-reasoned decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with a proven track record of managing multiple complex tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision, and strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to foster productive relationships and teamwork across functional and international teams.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a logical, solution-oriented mindset and a focus on root cause analysis and continuous process improvement.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-risk environments, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook, with strong data analysis skills and the ability to drive process improvements through technology.
