Private Credit Fund Accounting and Administration, Assistant Vice President

State Street is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Private Credit Fund Accounting and Administration to lead a team of financial services professionals and oversee the delivery of accounting and administrative services for alternative investment funds. The successful candidate must possess strong leadership and communication skills and have experience in the private markets sector.

Job description

As Head of Fund Accounting & Administration, AVP, you will be responsible for leading a growing team of financial services professionals in the delivery of accounting and administrative services for one or more alternative investment client relationships.

Tasks

Your responsibilities include:
  • Primary responsibility for allocating returns to investors, determining management and performance fees in accordance with waterfall provisions, and processing capital events such as capital contributions and distributions;
  • Responsibility for portfolio and fund-level accounting for numerous funds, including the review and approval of monthly or quarterly net asset values;
  • Managing the onboarding processes for existing client funds and the launch of new funds;
  • A demonstration of unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction;
  • Ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures, as well as compliance with external regulations;
  • The development and promotion of technology solutions to meet customers' complex reporting and data requirements;
  • Proactively identifying and capitalizing on cross-selling opportunities;
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, and developing employees to help them reach their full potential;

Requirements

The following skills and qualifications are required for this role:
  • Strong critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Effective time management;
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance;
  • At least 5–8 years of experience in the private markets sector;
  • Experience with alternative asset classes, complex fund structures, and fee calculations;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills;
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment;
  • CFA certification is preferred but not required;
