Product Governance Officer
The Product Governance Officer at EFG International in Luxembourg is responsible for monitoring the target market, manufacturer reporting, and coordinating the new product approval process within the framework of MiFID II product governance.
Tasks
- Monitoring and analysis of negative and neutral product lines in the target market.
- Review transactions that violate the target market, and ensure that the audit trail documentation for overrides is adequately justified and complete.
- Escalation of cases in accordance with defined governance and escalation rules.
- Identification of recurring patterns and systemic issues in target market violations.
- Proposing improvements and structural enhancements to the product governance framework and related processes.
- Preparation and validation of quarterly distribution reports to product manufacturers (including negative and neutral target markets).
- Ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate responses to inquiries from manufacturers, involving Private Banking, Investment Solutions, the First Line of Defense, and the Second Line of Defense, as needed.
- Maintaining dashboards to provide senior management with insights into distribution patterns and target market violations.
- Facilitation and coordination of the new product approval process across all stakeholders.
- Ensuring strict compliance with the product approval policy and established governance standards.
- Organizing and tracking cross-functional approvals (PB, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, and other relevant functions).
- Monitor end-to-end approval timelines and ensure complete archiving and documentation.
- Serves as a coordinating hub for product governance and the Lift Approach (EFG TMA).
- Providing data analyses to support the periodic reassessment of product distribution patterns.
- Promote dialogue and coordination between Business, PB COO, target market definitions, and the internal EFG target market governance framework (target market definition, manufacturers/assets, investment and wealth management products (funds, structured products, mandates, etc.), and distribution channels).
- Support for regular reviews and updates of target market definitions to reflect market, regulatory, and business developments.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of MiFID II, particularly in the area of product governance.
- Extensive experience in data processing and reporting (advanced Excel skills for data extraction, reconciliation, monitoring, and dashboard creation).
- A solid understanding of private banking business models (funds, structured products, discretionary accounts, etc.) and distribution channels.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and good judgment.
- Professional-level English (spoken and written); French is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and manage potential conflicts constructively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Risk-aware thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit.
