The Product Management & Governance Specialist (Asia) is responsible for planning, introducing and managing treasury offerings and business objectives in Asia. The position involves product management, governance and compliance tasks within a Julius Baer team.

Overview

Tasks

  • Services: Planning, launch, modification, and lifecycle management of treasury offerings and business objectives in Asia
  • People Management:
    • Foster a collaborative working relationship with key counterparts such as compliance, legal, risk management, credit, tax, operations, finance, and others.
    • Communicate and cooperate effectively with representatives of all relevant P&S approval/review functions and support units.
  • Product management:
    • Promote launches of new P&S approvals ('NPK'); contribute to all phases of product approval and implementation (e.g., business case, risk analysis, operational and control processes, system requirements, etc.) through engagement with relevant stakeholders.
    • Manage established and existing P&S through regular reviews as part of life cycle management ('LCM').
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to support product owners' business objectives in conjunction with regional (and global) strategies.
    • Identify opportunities to improve functional efficiency and productivity, suggest process improvements and workflow optimizations where relevant/appropriate.
  • Governance:
    • Keep GPS products and services content and data up to date within an inventory list in collaboration with the secretary of the New Product Approval Committee ('NPAC').
    • Support and ensure that the respective product owners fulfill their P&S management responsibilities and offer scopes.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure that NPA launches and LCM reviews take into account all regulatory requirements, changes, and developments.

Requirements

  • Personal requirements:
    • Ability and motivation to work independently and in a regional (and global) team environment with a positive attitude
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, well-structured and detail-oriented
    • Strong work ethic with a strict control mentality
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with different types and levels of stakeholders
    • Quick learner and able to work under pressure with good judgment to meet tight deadlines
    • Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably Chinese
  • Professional and technical requirements:
    • 5-10 years of professional experience in the financial sector
    • Solid knowledge of financial and investment products and a good understanding of the wealth management business
