Product Management & Governance Specialist (Asia)

The Product Management & Governance Specialist (Asia) is responsible for the planning, implementation and administration of financial products in Asia and works closely with various departments such as Compliance, Legal and Risk Management. The position is part of the Global Products & Solutions team at Julius Baer.

Job description

Tasks

  • Planning, launch, modification, and lifecycle management of treasury offerings and business objectives in Asia
  • Identification and evaluation of challenges during the development cycle of products and services
  • Facilitating and providing innovative solutions to mitigate problems related to GPS

Your main tasks

Personnel management

  • Promoting a collaborative working relationship with key counterparties such as compliance, legal, risk management, credit, tax, operations, and finance
  • Effective communication and collaboration with representatives of all relevant business and support units

Product management

  • Drive launches of new product approvals ('NPK'); contribute to all phases of product approval and implementation
  • Management of existing and current products and services through regular life cycle management ('LCM') reviews
  • Tracking industry trends, competitive landscape and regulatory developments to support product owners' business objectives
  • Identification of opportunities to improve functional efficiency and productivity

Governance

  • Maintenance of the contents and data of GPS products and services within an inventory list
  • Supporting and ensuring that product owners comply with their P&S management responsibilities and scope of offerings

Compliance and risk management

  • Ensuring that NPA launches and LCM reviews meet all regulatory requirements

Requirements

Personal requirements

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a regional (and global) team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, well-structured and detail-oriented
  • Strong work ethic with a strict control mentality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Quick learner and able to work under pressure with good judgment
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably Chinese

Professional and technical requirements

  • 5-10 years of professional experience in the financial sector
  • Solid knowledge of financial and investment products and a good understanding of the wealth management business
