Product Manager, Core Banking, Switzerland

Sygnum is seeking an experienced Core Banking Product Manager in Zurich to lead product strategy and delivery in a regulated environment. The position requires at least seven years of experience in product management in the banking sector, as well as strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.

Tasks

  • Drive core banking products from strategy and design through to delivery using department, tech, and delivery squads
  • Translate our strategies into user stories and drive delivery through an Agile-driven backlog, through which we actively engage with various solution architectures and delivery teams
  • Lead stakeholder management for key clients, stakeholders, and suppliers, ensuring that their needs are met
  • Manage external vendor dependencies within our product organizations (Finnova and Swisscom)
  • Coordinate with internal departments at Sygnum (Business Development & Marketing, Compliance, Legal, IT, Operations, HR, and Finance) (as needed) to ensure that the product meets all necessary expectations
  • Partner with and support the Compliance and Legal departments to ensure that regulatory changes are continuously and diligently followed
  • Work with other teams that implement product changes and then manage these changes from testing through to post-launch activities
  • Support vendors such as Swisscom and Finnova in defining and delivering services, from the start of Day 2 activities through to platform improvements
  • Manage the development backlog, sprint planning for multiple teams, and sprint retrospectives

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management or product ownership for core banking, banking platforms, payments, ledger, reconciliation, or similar regulated financial services environments
  • A strong understanding of core banking capabilities and operating models. Ideally, you have experience working at a system integrator or managed service provider that collaborates with core banking vendors.
  • Understanding of Finnova or a comparable core banking vendor ecosystem. Experience with Finnova is a plus.
  • A proven track record of go-to-market strategies and roadmaps, prioritizing based on outcomes and achieving high levels of stakeholder satisfaction and overall project completion
  • Design and implement a modern collaboration experience for product delivery
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work and collaborate with teams at all levels
  • Proven track record of maintaining operational stability, including incident, change, and improvement management processes
  • Worked on a range of core banking capabilities, such as multi-currency accounting, AML rule configuration, credit and credit card configuration, loan accounting, etc.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with third-party vendors
  • Experience in vendor management, SLA management, and vendor growth, as well as management in a regulated, technology- and digital-focused environment
  • Commitment to delivering business impact and product outcomes every day
  • Strong analytical skills to translate requirements into decision-making information, implementation strategies, and plans
  • Strong sense of ownership and meticulous attention to detail, including incident response, root-cause analysis, operational stability, and continuous improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German, with a proven track record of engaging senior stakeholders and external vendors

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Finnova Open Platform, SIL, FTL, BDS, or related Swiss core banking integration patterns
  • Working knowledge of program increments, value streams, or experience with scaled agile delivery in the financial services industry
  • Extensive practical experience and a comfort level with collaborating to deliver products that require secure, digitally native, and hardened solutions
  • Working knowledge of Finnova or a comparable core banking vendor ecosystem
  • Experience with Finnova is a plus
  • Exposure to digital assets, tokenization, and crypto-related banking products
