QA Team Lead, AVP

The QA Team Lead (AVP) is responsible for leading the central QA team to ensure high product quality through the implementation of best practices and automation. The focus is on developing scalable testing practices and management strategies to improve product quality and automated testing.

Charles River Development enables investment firms worldwide to use a cloud-based platform that optimizes and automates the investment process across different asset classes.

Tasks

  • Work with the Director of QA Programs to further develop the CRD testing process that will become the industry standard for functional testing
  • Definition and implementation of the entire quality strategy in planning and execution in one department
  • Expansion of test coverage through manual and automated functional tests and performance tests
  • Ensure efficient and effective product testing by evaluating and expanding department metrics
  • Participation in group testing activities to increase the value of the integration tests
  • Training of new product specialists and supervision of junior employees in the proper creation and testing of test processes
  • Development of best practices with a focus on customer orientation, repeatability and data-driven decisions
  • Evaluate customer patch requests and determine how to reduce or limit them
  • Monitoring the testing process for patches carried out by teams
  • Evaluation of requirements and data sets necessary for the proper testing of changes and extensions
  • Carrying out white glove tests
  • Raising quality concerns and proposing a plan to address these concerns
  • Act as an expert for developers working on performance tests
  • Participate in key team decisions for test guidance as an adjoint member of each Scrum team
  • Review of the quality process by checking quality KPIs for the department
  • Act as a liaison to teams outside of technology to understand and solve requirements
  • Management of CRD engineers and senior engineers
  • Management of QA engineers/testers
  • Supervision and coaching of a team
  • Leadership by example

Requirements

Education

  • B.S. degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or other technical field of study or business administration with a master's degree
  • 10+ years of experience

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in software testing in a process-oriented technology environment
  • 4+ years of experience in managing quality programs
  • 5+ years experience in test management
  • Proven experience in the automation of unit tests, test cases, scripts and automated testing tools to verify the quality of multi-tier applications
  • Proven experience in identifying high quality, high business value initiatives, developing detailed plans for execution and delivering successful, measurable results
  • Proven ability to lead by example
  • At least 5 years of experience with agile development methods
  • Expertise in quality to international standards (e.g. technical management solutions)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
