Quality Assurance Automation Tester Engineer, Officer

State Street is seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Tester Engineer with 5+ years of experience in test automation of complex applications, specifically in the insurance space. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem solving skills and be able to work closely with business units and the software development team.

Job description

Tasks

  • Collaborate with the business unit and software development team to identify testing requirements
  • Development and maintenance of test strategy, test scenarios, test automation processes in line with project and organizational standards, governance, processes and tools
  • Creation of test conditions and implementation of automated functional test cases that serve as acceptance criteria for enhancements and new applications
  • Work with the support group to reproduce production issues and identify gaps in the regression test suite
  • Looking for ways to improve the testing process with new tools, strategies or techniques
  • Responsibility for the design, development and implementation of the long-term automation strategy and framework to increase the share of test automation and reduce test schedules
  • Execution of test suites and analysis of results
  • Monitoring of defect management through prompt defect reporting, storage and tracking through the defect life cycle
  • Collect and effectively communicate test execution metrics

Requirements

Education and preferred qualifications/skills

  • B.S. in computer science or a related field
  • 4-6 years of experience in manual/automated testing, code review, repository and deployment tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestRail, GTT, Jenkins, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience in an iterative development environment using an iterative agile methodology, with experience in delivering working software to production throughout the lifecycle
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and diagnose issues within the quality assurance environment and communicate with a diverse audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in testing both client-server and web-based applications during one or more full application lifecycles
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and trading principles
  • Financial knowledge is an advantage
  • Experience in leading a team, including assigning project priorities, communicating QA status to other managers and mentoring less experienced colleagues
  • Team-oriented attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
